At approximately 15:05 cst on thursday, november 29th, mse paint contractors working at bromley station noticed the sump overflowing in the area where they were working. The painters contacted the onsite bp operations employee immediately. The bp operator turned the sump pump on to lower the sump level. It was determined a drain valve in the trap area was inadvertently opened by an air hose the painters were using. The operator closed the valve and locked it. It is estimated that 10 gallons were released from the sump tank. The released product and contaminated soil were removed. 11/12/2024 - updated by PHMSA per operator approval.
