Narrative
On july 22, 2018 at 0831 hours, pg&e was notified of a service line rupture at a parking lot at 9100 foothills blvd in roseville. The actual service line that ruptured was 8000 foothills blvd. Pg&e's gas service representative arrived on-site at 0853 hours. Pg&e's crew stopped the flow of gas by shutting in the station at 1033 hours. The area was uncovered and determined that the 4" plastic service had ruptured from a potential maop exceedance. There was no pressure monitoring/recording on this line, therefore the exact pressure reached at the time of the rupture is unknown. The cause of the overpressure event was a malfunction of the control equipment. One customer's gas service was impacted. The customer's gas service was restored using compressed natural gas (cng) portable tanks on 7/23/18 at 0700 hours. The ruptured service pipe is planned to be deactivated, and a new service is to be installed from an existing distribution main. Construction is pending. There were no injuries, fatalities or ignition associated with this incident. Fire department was reported on-site. This incident was reported to the cpuc due to a maop exceedance event, which was determined on 7/22/18 at 1748 hours. On 7/24/18 at 1120 hours, it was determined that repair costs would exceed $50k. On 7/24/18 at 1134 hours, this incident was reported to the DOT due to the $50k criteria. Gas equipment affected
