Narrative
Additional nrc report number 1219291 at 2:55 pm on july 21, 2018, a second party contractor working on a replacement project for atmos energy damaged a 6-inch steel high pressure gas line while directional drilling. The line was located prior to excavation, however, the contractor failed to pot-hole and identify the exact location of the gas line. The access road in front of northwest hwy and an adjacent parking lot were blocked off to vehicular traffic. An atmos service tech arrived at 4:29 pm and verified the release of gas. The leak was eliminated at 6:32 pm by closing an above-ground valve. The damaged section of the pipe was replaced and placed back in service on october 26, 2018.
