On july 19, 2018, at 11:45 nmgc crews were called out to a 3rd party damage at the intersection of los alamitos heights road and lobo canyon rd. A 4" steel gas main was punctured by bore machine stabilizer. While making repairs an ignition occurred under bore machine that engulfed the machine and was a total loss approximate cost of contractor bore machine is $280,299 and $31,843.00 in operators property damage and repair costs. Cost of total loss of bore machine caused reportable incident. Investigation is complete, however, cause of ignition is unknown.
