Narrative
While pipeline was operating under normal parameters, a leak was discovered with oil on the surface of the ground by the local operator personnel. Upon excavation and inspection, a small pin hole was found. Upon discovering the leak, the pipeline was shutdown. The oil that reached the surface was contained on site in a containment pit. Hazwoper personnel were dispatched to the site for cleanup and remediation. The texas railroad commission was notified. Corrective action taken by delek logististcs in efforts to prevent this from happening at this location was reestablishing cathodic protection to prevent stray current and replacing the leaking pipe sections with new pipe.
