A third party motorist contacted nustar personnel regarding a crude oil odor at nustar's groom pump station. Nustar immediately responded to the facility and shut down the pipeline system. The leak occurred on a launcher trap valve flange, and was repaired by installing a clamp on the flange. Update: the cause of the leak was failure of the gasket's steel winding structure.
