On 08/16/17 a contractor entered wood station without authorization from enterprise operations to remove their chemical injection equipment. In the process of removing the equipment, the injection tubing was removed from the injection point. At the time of removal, the pipeline was not running and no product was released. The contractor left the site without capping the tubing and returned a few hours later to find crude oil actively leaking from the disconnected tubing. The contractor then notified enterprise of the release. Approximately 10 barrels made contact with the ground and another 15 was contained within a containment tub.
