Narrative
At 10:20 on 3/3/2017, national grid's dispatch and schedule received notification by the fdny of a third party contractor damage to hp gas main in front of 7117 roosevelt ave. At the request of fdny, the e, f, m, & r nyc mta subway lines were stopped in all directions as a precaution. Contractor was performing pile boring using a boring drill rig. Out of an abundance of caution, emergency mobile command center was sent to the location. Under direction from national grid's gas control, at 11:30 on 3/3/2017, field operations and I&r closed two isolation valves to secure the gas, with 702 customers being taken out of service. At 23:00 on 3/3/2017, field operations made repairs to the main. At approx. 13:41 on 3/3/2017,all mta train restrictions have been lifted and train service is back to running normal. All services were restored no later than 3/5/2017 at 12:00.
