Narrative
A gasket on a flanged connection failed during normal operation resulting in a 4.4 barrel propane release. Empco has replaced the defective gasket at the arco junction site as well as other compressed fiber gaskets at this valve site and along the affected pipeline segment. The new gaskets are constructed with glass-reinforced epoxy (gre) laminate bonded to a metal core.
