Approximately 250 bbls of crude oil were released as a result of internal corrosion on plains tank line. All oil was contained within plains property. Plains has replaced approximately 200 feet of the 12-inch line with aboveground 8-inch piping, which provides improved visibility and corrosion protection, in order to prevent reoccurrence. The national response center (nrc) was notified as a result of costs exceeding $50,000 and assigned report number 1155591.
