On 7/20/2016 operation personnel were notified of a stain on the ground at new london station by a 3rd party crude trucking driver. The truck facility was shut down and subsequent excavation revealed a pinhole in a section of 8" station piping. The cause of the failure was determined to be external corrosion. Subsequent to a business development review of the asset the line has been purged and removed from service. Contaminated soil was remediated onsite. The tx rrc pipeline safety division was notified of this release on 7/20/2016 and assigned case no. 1389.
