On august 1, 2015 at 2:02 p.M. A failure at a flange connection to a pressure transmitter off of propane piping inside the winfree pump station resulted in a release of 66.7 lbs propane. Leak detection alarms alerted houston product control who took action to isolate the leak. Technicians immediately responded and stopped the leak in 43 minutes. Root cause was determined by pipeline operations that a blind flange was tapped and utilized in the installation of the transmitter where it mates up with the instrument.
