Approximately 12.7 bbls of crude oil were released from a 10-inch, below-ground section of pipe, as a result of internal corrosion. The segment of pipe was replaced, and has been sent for a third party evaluation to confirm the cause of the corrosion. A supplemental report will be submitted once the results are received. The national response center (nrc) was notified and assigned report number 1118360. Supplemental narrative: the third party evaluation has confirmed the root cause of the failure to be co-colony microbiological influenced corrosion (mic), caused predominantly by sulfate reducing bacteria (srb).
