On april 10, 2015, koch pipeline company, l.P. ("kpl") was performing maintenance activities (pigging) on pipeline 520. While operating a 4-inch bypass valve on the trap receiver, the stem on the valve began to weep product (propylene). Local area resources recommended replacing the valve. The valve was replaced and the maintenance activity resumed on april 11, 2015 at 01:40 with no signs of leakage. Approximately .79 barrels of propylene was released as a result of the weeping valve stem.
