Approximately 30 bbls of crude oil were released when a station operator forgot to close the manual suction and discharge header drain valves, during maintenance work on the pump, which caused the sump to quickly fill forcing crude oil out of the funnel of the sump. The operator immediately called his supervisor and made notifications. The operator has been drug-tested and has been removed from this oq-covered task and assigned to be requalified.
