On tuesday, july 1, 2014 a landowner notified chaparral energy of a possible problem with its pipeline on his property. A chaparral energy employee arrived on site and determined that we may have a release. Chaparral energy's emergency response plan was activated. Thw pipeline was shutdown and purged between mlv1 and mlv2. After excavating down to the pipeline a small pin hole was discovered. Approximately 8 feet of pipe was replaced with pre-tested pipe. The pipeline was restarted. The removed section was taken to a third party testing lab. Chaparral energy has not received a report from the testing lab as of this date. The final report from the testing lab has been received and the lab verified that the cause of this accident was external corrosion.
