Maintenance crew installed temporary bypass piping in order to replace a valve at the location. As the bypass piping was being purged with product, an eight inch flexitallic gasket failed as a result of loose bolts from improper tightening. Piping was isolated, blown down and the gasket removed and replaced bolts were tightened and project continued.
