On march 26 at approximately 10:30 a.M. Local time, technician looked at hmi interface and noticed that there were numerous indications that the sump was running. Technician investigated sump due to the numerous indications and confirmed release of product on the ground and notified the supervisor. At 12:05 p.M. Local supervisor determined that the release met criteria for nrc reporting. After further investigation it was determined that the leak occurred at the discharge of the sump on line 6a and that the flex hose had failed. Based on review of historical data, the best estimate of time of failure is between 5:18 a.M. And 5:53 a.M. As this was the last time the sump ran. The flex hose was replaced at the sump with hard piping. Metallurgical analysis confirms through wall fatigue crack. Approximately 90 cubic yards of contaminated soil was disposed of at an approved site.
