On 3/25/2014 at 1200, a technician was performing a routine station check and discovered a pihole leak on a weld of a 1" bypass piping. The leak was confirmed using snoop. The volume released was very small and it was not determined to be a reportable quantity. However, it was later determined the cost to repair may exceed $50,000 and the nrc was notified immediately. The leak was isolated then purged and the defect was grinded off.
