Narrative
On 1/22/2014, sunoco received a call from the public regarding a possible leak. The pipeline was shut down at 1640 cst. Sunoco personnel arrived on site at 1730 cst and determined a release had occurred at 1745 cst. The initial volume of the release was estimated to be 10 barrels. Response personnel began clean up and repair activities upon arrival. Metallurgical analysis revealed external corrosion in an area of disbonded coating on the pipe. The affected section of pipe was removed and new piping was installed on 2/22/2014. Investigation of subsurface/groundwater impact continues per texas commission on environmental quality (tceq) regulations.
