Narrative
Dispatch and schedule was notified by the fdny of a gas related disturbance at #101 delaware street on 1/29/14. Customer meter services responded and as per standard operating protocol conducted a leak investigation which yielded gas readings involving multiple sewer manholes. Field operation's crews were subsequently called to the location, secured gas to 101 delaware per fdny request, found and repaired a crack in the 4" ci gas main located in the proximity of #14 delaware street. Upon repair of this crack the sewer manhole readings began to subside. The migration path of the gas was potentially related to an inappropriate customer sewer connection; the cause of this incident is still under investigation by fdny. Further remediation will be addressed as deemed necessary based on the investigation findings to ensure the safety of the public and the integrity of our gas infrastructure.
