Narrative
On 1/24/14 at 01:03 mcmc received notification from kansas gas service (kgs) of a vehicle accident involving a kgs regulator station; an mcmc technician was dispatched to the scene. Kgs regulator & mcmc farm tap were destroyed by a vehicle and said vehicle was on fire. A second mcmc technician was dispatched to the scene. Technician(s) reported that the fire had been extinguished, the vehicle had been moved away from the regulator station and gas was leaking. Two more mcmc personnel were dispatched to the scene. One additional mcmc employee was dispatched to the scene along with third party contractor. Mcmc personnel partially closed first above-ground block valve, notification was made to large end use customer of possible shut down of pipeline. After second attempt the flow of gas was stopped. Damage was assessed, repairs were completed and line was put back in service at 07:30.Update 04/30/2015 part a 12. Change to no; unable to determine if driver's injuries resulted in hospitalization and the gas release did not cause his injuries.
