*this intrastate pipeline is regulated and inspected by new mexico public regulation commission* relief valve downstream of motor-operated valve failed on company's 12" four corners pipeline. This equipment failure cased a sump connected to the pipeline to overflow onto gravel surrounding sump. The area affected is approximately 4' x 6' and release was contained and controlled in the manifold area on company's property. Vacuum truck removed excess liquid from sump and stained gravel was removed from affected area. Cleanup of area was completed the same day of the incident.
