Approximately 2 bbls of oil were released when a tank mixer experienced a propeller failure. The failure resulted in an imbalance of the propeller shaft causing damage to the mixers mechanical seal. The crude oil was released into the surrounding containment dike. The tank was pumped down to a safe level, the mixer was removed and replaced with a manway cover.
