Narrative
At approximately 10:30 am on monday, october 7, 2013, the residence at 24 lakeview avenue, ripley, ny suffered an explosion. Investigation into the incident indicates the service line to the property was previously damaged by the homeowner who made an unauthorized repair without the knowledge of the operator. The repair failed resulting in natural gas migrating into the residence where it ignited. Subsequent to the event, the service line involved in this incident was cut off at the main and abandoned.
