On may 17, 2012 at 10:30am central standard time explorer employees were replacing spheres in a 30-inch signet prover at the glenpool tank farm. To prepare for the removal of the spheres the employees isolated the prover, pushed the sphere onto the tray with the prover ram, leaving the ram in the extended position, opened the underground loop drain, and the drain off the bottom of the interchange. The employees additionally opened a 1 inch outlet under the closure for the drain down. When the prover was drained, the employees confirmed the prover was not under pressure and opened the closure to remove the spheres. When the closure was opened 7 barrels of product was behind the 30 inch spheres and was released. Existing written prover drain down procedures and prover design modifications were made. Report was supplmented to account for question e5f. The free phase product was recovered and any petroleum impacted soil was excavated and tested for proper management.
