Washignton gas responded to a house fire at 1327 girard street, nw, washington, dc on may 4, 2012. Upon arrival, washington gas found that the structure at 1327 girard street, nw, had collapsed onto a meter rack at 1323 girard street, nw damaging the meter rack. A 360-degree, sub-surface, bar-hole survey was conducted around the structure at 1323 girard street, nw. The service to 1327 girard street, nw was capped-off at the curb. An odorant reading was taken and found to be acceptable. Conversations with fire department personnel indicated that the release of gas was secondary as a result of the building collapse.
