Operator on duty was checking quality control samples at the sample box and failed to close the ball valve completely. Approximately 3 barrel's was spilled. Corrective actions - actions taken is always verify the valve is closed completely and review our sample collecting procedure. Sample collecting procedures were reviewed before operator on duty left that night.
