Narrative
At 05:10 on the morning of march 25, 2011 the operator went to the lou-lex pipe system to close off the tank valves and gauge and sample the tank. We took a marathon pipeline receipt of 25,000bbls of cbob into tank 130 and were shipping out the other side via the lou-lex system which had finished. When he got to the lou-lex system he noticed product spraying form the pump (which wasn't running). The operator closed the valves and called terminal manager to report the spill. He then called the fire department.
