On december 8, 2010, tennessee gas pipeline (tgp) operations personnel at the company's east bernard compressor station (station 17) heard a loud noise approximately 1,100 feet south of their location. Tgp gas control observed a corresponding pressure drop in the pipeline near the station. A 24-inch pipe had ruptured without gas ignition. The cause has been determined to be internal corrosion.
