Pipeliner was performing one-call duties on location. During row examination, he smelled an odor and investigated further. At mp 76 valve site, he probed the line and found product at the location. Line was shut down, area was excavated and the upstream gasket was found to be leaking. Both the upstream and downstream flange studs were tightened and a four hour test was administered to see if any additional seepage occurred. The line segment was restarted the next day.
