Narrative
Additional report information to revise final permanent repair cost of operator's property damage and repairs. See revisions on page 2, part a, number 13 gave the time for the new line to be started back up. On page 5, part d, #2. In addition, the okie one call ticket number was corrected on page 11, part g3, #9. Contractor working on roadbed for the I-40 relocation project in oklahoma city drove a 12" I-beam into the ong 12" steel gas main, puncturing the pipeline. Line was approximately 30 feet deep at the point of the damage. The depth and the location made it too dangerous and impractical to excavate to attempt a repair of the existing pipeline. The puncture size of 3" is an estimate necessary due to the I-beam being on top of the pipe and not being able to expose the pipe for further evaluation at that, depth. The damaged 12" pipeline will remain out of service pending permit approval from oklahoma department of transportation (odot) and union pacific railroad to replace the pipeline in a new location by directional bore. During the initial emergency response, a 2" plastic lateral line tied to the damaged section was shut off. Approximately 100 feet of 2" plastic pipe was installed to restore service to the 10 customers affected by the outage.
