Narrative
Natural gas leakage due to corrosion migrated underground to a pier and beam constructed home which was located approximately 15 feet from the gas main. The homeowners had recently replaced their gas service line adjacent to the main which appears to be the migration path to the home's foundation. An unknown ignition source ignited the gas that collected under the home and destroyed the house. No serious injuries were reported. The leaking steel main was replaced with 110 feet of pe main.
