A structure fire resulted in property damages to two residences. The heat from the structure fire melted the regulator and meter at 903 buena vista street, causing gas to be released. The gas ignited and contributed to the fire. Gas was shut off at the service valve by pg&e personnel at 0530 hours. The gas service to 903 buena vista street was excavated at property line and cut off at 0630 hours. The cause of the structure fire is yet to be determined, although the fire department is investigating the incident as a possible arson case. The fire damage to the residence at 901 buena vista street did not involve pg&e gas facilities. A leak survey of this service detected no leakage. This incident was determined to be reportable due to damages exceeding $50,000, and that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
